Burness Paull & Scottish Wholesale Association webinar: The new duty to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace | Burness Paull

This webinar is part of the SWA’s new initiative aimed at helping members embrace diversity and strengthen their commitment to fostering inclusive cultures within their businesses.

A must attend for team leaders of all levels, including supervisors, managers, and directors, along with HR professionals and business owners across the Scottish wholesale sector and its wider supply network.

We are pleased to continue our partnership with leading law firm Burness Paull, with this informative webinar on the new legal duty requiring all UK employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

This webinar will cover what employers should be doing to comply with the new duty which has been in force since October 2024, what changes will be made to the new duty in the coming months (including in particular in relation to third party harassment), and provide actionable steps that businesses can take in 2025 and beyond to not only help with legal compliance but ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees.

The practical legal update will be provided by Jamie Meechan, Senior Associate in the employment team at Burness Paull.

This is the second of a series of events which cover timely and relevant content to help members meet legal requirements and build cultures where everyone can be their authentic selves and be at their very best.

As part of our ongoing partnership SWA members can also access the free legal helpline which offers advice and guidance, as well as a starter guide and checklist, to help wholesale and supplier members alike to navigate this increasingly important area of business.  Burness Paull’s employment law team is the largest in Scotland, ranked as Tier 1 by the legal directories, and acts for clients of all sizes.

Members can use the helpline by completing the Enquiry Form or by calling 0141 487 6558.

The free helpline can be accessed for 30 minutes on two occasions during any six-month period. SWA members will also receive a discount on legal fees if they engage Burness Paull for further support.
