Mentoring
The Scottish Wholesale Association’s Mentoring Programme is designed to improve skills and nurture emerging talent within the Scottish wholesale industry.
This innovative programme matches ambitious individuals, each of them currently working in the key areas of buying, sales and management, to an appropriate mentor.
Mentors from within and outside the wholesale industry have also been carefully selected to work with our mentees. All mentors are interviewed by the SWA Board of Trustees and, regardless of any previous mentoring experience, required to undertake specific training for the role.
Crucially for employers, the Mentoring Programme is structured around the needs of the business so takes place within the workplace.
Mentoring typically covers a 12 to 18-month period with progress monitored through a quarterly governance process. Many mentees and mentors choose to remain in contact after the formal programme concludes.
Member Feedback
I feel that I have really benefited from an in-depth understanding of different ways of negotiating. It has made life a lot easier when negotiating with suppliers who have been on this course or something similar.
