Issue: Packaging waste compliance

The SWA, through its independent adviser Scott Brady, assisted one of our Members, James Wilson (Orkney), in complying with packaging waste regulations. A work plan was discussed, covering:

• Gathering packaging waste data
• Completing the data form to be returned to SEPA (Scottish Environmental Protection Agency)
• Sending information to the compliance scheme
• Monitoring compliance costs and tonnage charges

Outcome: Compliance with the regulations
Cost implications: James Wilson (Orkney) saved thousands of pounds by working with the SWA

Scott checked the figures for our database before sending the information to the compliance scheme and SEPA.
